I’m just another one of those travel-loving world-seekers. Although many of my entries will probably be about my world adventures, I do have a few other things to write about… like the people I meet while spending time on the streets in Portland as a ‘volunteer’ for Sanctity of Hope. I say ‘volunteer’ out of technicality only… in reality, I serve hotdogs every Wednesday nıght simply because I love the people I meet and the crazy stories they tell. Something I’ve realized… you have to be pretty damn tough to survive on the streets. What it all comes down to… I love life.

Hi Briena,
I’m the editor at the Portland Upside. I enjoyed your story about SOH and came to check out your blog. Your writing is very heart-centered. You sound like somebody I would like to know. Thank you for your loving attention to people that need so much. Bless you,
Carrie

Loved most of your stuff, the only one I didn’t like was about your mom forgetting your birthday. I am trying to print this stuff out, but the computer will only print one page (where is my hammer!). I will pass your work around as soon as the GD computer will print it all. love you mom

Briena, thank you for sharing with me about the streetquotes blog!!! Just got through reading your latest story. Made me smile the story about “the prettiest lady in Sellwood made me a birthday cake”.
Keep it up. I will keep reading now. You are doing some special work here and it does make a difference…touching peoples lives…sharing the stories about real people. These stories are important and need to be told.
